Mission Brief

2nd Mission Veteran Sober House is a pioneering recovery residence specifically designed for military veterans with PTSD and the first of its kind in Florida.

OUR MISSION

Our mission aims to establish a tranquil, safe, and supportive environment for veterans striving to recover from PTSD, substance use, trauma, and addiction. Where veterans can connect and support each other while receiving wrap-around programs, services, and benefits that they need and/or are entitled to that will help ensure complete recovery and pathways towards sustainability and purpose.

All Scars Are Not Visible

Many military veterans face a new complex battleground after service, struggling with mental health challenges like PTSD, suicidal ideation, substance use, depression and more. Alarmingly, VA data suggests a potential link, with 75-95% of veterans with PTSD also suffer substance use disorders and that this population is much more vulnerable to suicidal ideation. This highlights the critical need for specialized support programs and the funding needed to support the recovery and future of these Veterans, especially in Duval County with the highest population of military Veterans in the state of Florida.

Most Veterans that are discharged from inpatient treatment facilities will not have a plan in place to treat their PTSD. Shockingly, there are no post-treatment facilities specializing in co-occurring PTSD.

Now these Veteran Heroes can begin their 2nd Mission of healing at Florida’s FIRST sober living home for Military Veterans with PTSD. Providing a supportive, home-like setting where residents gain strength through brotherhood integrating formal therapies and counseling including service dog therapy, twelve-step programs, and peer support that address the deep-seated wounds of war and service.
